Date Night at Sammy's Restaurant!

Posted about Sammy's Restaurant 2 years ago -- but wouldn't mind posting about them over and over again. This was my 3rd visit here, which means, my 3rd time trying their Indonesian-inspired dishes but nothing's changed! Sammy's Restaurant is indeed one of my favorite and recommended restaurants in Rizal.

The restaurant's rustic-industrial vibe plus their DIY decoration really amazes me. It was dinner time when we arrived at the place and it was raining -- the large windows are really adding to that romantic, intimate vibe of the place.

As we all know that the reason behind their Indonesian-inspired dishes was because both Chef Sammy and his wife Dorothy worked in Indonesia for 17 years.

Mie Goreng - Also known as Bakmi Goreng. It was my first time trying this dish made with stir-fried noodles in a sweet and savory sauce tossed with herbs and strips of scrambled eggs and I loved it. Definitely the star of the night for me next to the Martabak Manis :p

Beef Konro - Slow-cooked for hours and they used the drippings as its sauce making it so flavorful.

Beef Rendang - Spicy, rich and creamy Malaysian/Indonesian beef stew made with beef, spices and coconut milk.

Nasi Goreng - Indonesian's favorite food and also the Isidro's favorite food and I bet anyone would love it too. Indonesian fried rice w/ Chicken Satay and Krupuk (Indonesian crackers).

Martabak Manis in Choco-Cheese (R) and Corn and Cheese (L) - The Indonesian version of sweet and thick pancakes with a variety of fillings. The Corn and Cheese is one of Sammy's new variant and it was surprisingly good, but the Choco-Cheese is still my favorite!

It's the chill and romantic ambiance, good food, but on an affordable price that makes me always want to come back here. And who wouldn't want to be serenaded by the owners themselves after your scrumptious meal right?

Sammy’s also complies with safety protocols set by the LGU.
