Pinoy Comfort Food at Casa Calle, SM Megamall

Stressed? Bored? No matter how you're feeling - I'm betting that we can all agree that food trip is the answer to whatever we're feeling.

As part of our #Eatogether food trip few weeks ago - we indulged in some of Casa Calle's Comfort Food. They also serve leveled-up version of our favorite street food, silog and sizzling plates.

Tokwa't Baboy (Php90) - A famous and common Filipino appetizer. Consists of pork ears, pork belly and deep-fried tofu and served in a mixture of soy sauce. Usually served as pulutan, as a rice meal with porridge (lugaw) as a side dish.

Inihaw Platter (Php380) - Various meat that are grilled to perfection - two sticks of each: Pork BBQ, Isaw Manok (Chicken Intestine), Chicharon Bulaklak (Ruffled Pork Fat), Tenga (Pork Ear) and Betamax (Coagulated Pig's Blood). This promo bundle is only available during Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Sizzling Beef Pares (Php188) - Braised beef stew served with garlic fried rice. A popular Filipino food associated with specialty roadside diner-style establishments.

Lugaw Special (Php95/small or Php115/large) - Nothing comforts like a bowl of lugaw (rice porridge or congee): it's hearty and easy-to-make.

Turones Ala Mode (Php155) - A popular banana snack made of sliced bananas, a piece of jackfruit then wrapped in spring roll wrapper and deep fried. Served with vanilla ice cream.

What's your favorite Filipino street food? Whatever it may be get ready to rediscover your favorite Filipino Comfort Food when you drop by Casa Calle. 😉
