Varra Resto Bar - A Hidden Gem in Little Baguio, San Juan

VARRA RESTO BAR - Located in P. Guevarra where they got its name.  A newly opened resto bar, not even a month old, but had already people talking about them as they have so much to offer - from their affordable sumptuous meals to their colorful drinks and because of its homey minimalist relaxing vibe. (PS: Ms. Lovely Tan designed the place herself.)

The place if perfect for those who would like to just have dinner and just relax for a bit. If you're looking for a place to hold your celebration with friends or families, the offer a VIP room good for 20 pax for just PHP20,000 (fully consumable) where you'll enjoy a private room with your own comfort room, it has wifi and cable and you can even have your own butler! How sosh, eh?

Here's the door going to the VIP room

But if you're coming with a bigger group they have a Lounge that can hold big celebrations for 40 pax for PHP35,000 (full consumable).

Lounge
I went here with my Foodie Friends and we're served 12 (food) items and 7 drinks to try from their menu:

Spam Chips (PHP210)
Ahhh! The very first one that was served and definitely one of my faves.. Because who doesn't love crispy spam, eh?
Crispy Shrooms (PHP130)
Perfectly crisp oyster and enoki mushrooms, served with a slightly spiced vinegar.
Varra's Nacho Overload (PHP350)
Crunchy nacho chips with lotsa cheese, beef, tomatoes, onions, pepper and olives. Its already good for sharing.. Or maybe not?
Messy Fried (PHP150)
Fries served with lots of cheese and beef! This one's good too.
Soy Garlic Chicken Poppers (PHP240)
Fried chicken balls served with egg, coleslaw and rice! I personally like the soy garlic chicken, it was sooooooo good.
Beef Tapa (PHP240)
Tapsilog AKA Classic Breakfast! I love that its sweet, salty and it was indeed chewy! It was paired with egg and fried rice.
Varra's Steak Salpicao (PHP380)
Definitely everyone's favorite that night as it was extremely good! A dish that has steak slices, lots of minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, olive oil, and some liquid seasoning served in a sizzling plate.
Sizzling Sisig with Egg (PHP270)
Pork innards and parts of the pig's face, making it a great appetizer or viand to be paired with plain rice.
Classic Carbonara (PHP290)
Creamy pasta loaded with ham, finely grate parmesan and poached egg.
Chicken Pesto Marinara (PHP380)
For those who like pesto but also love tomato sauce, then this one's for you.
Wings Basket (PHP230)
Six pieces of juicy and flavorful chicken wings with 6 flavors to choose from: Buffalo, Soy Garlic, Galic Parmesan, Hickory BBQ, Chili Cheese and Honey Sriracha. On our case, we we're able to try Soy Garlic and the Garlic Parmesan. Both are good, but I like the Soy Garlic more.

After munching with all those food, ordering a drink is A MUST when in Varra! May it be just a refreshing drink, cocktail and even beers they have it all here. Some of their signature cocktails include:
  • Blue Cruise - White Rum, Lemon and Triple Sec
  • Rosee el Varra - Tequila, Sour mix and Hoegaarden Rosee
  • Varra Mountain - Gin, Gin de Cacao, Sour mix and Triple sec
  • Basil Slush (blended basil leaves, rum, lemonade and sugar
Some of Varra's non-alcoholic drinks:

  • Varra Iced Tea
  • Frozen Peach Iced Tea
  • Cranberry and citrus-y Sunset Spritzer

Good Food. Chill Ambiance. Another amazing thing about Varra is that they have a wifi connection and sockets everywhere to charge your gadgets! No excuse that you run out of battery! :P Overall, I liked everything that was served to us, it's just that the Salpicao, Messy Fries, Nachos, Chicken Popper and the Soy Garlic Wings. Definitely recommending this place to my family and friends :)

Thank you so much, Ms. Lovely for having us! ❤️
