Weekend Foodtrip in Sagada

Close to nature. Cold weather.

Few words best describe Sagada. But did you know that Sagada is also a great place to go foodtrippin'? Steak. Yogurt. Lemon Pie. Brown Rice. Pasta. Etag Pizza. You name it.

This was actually my 2nd time to visit Sagada (Check out our experience last 2016) so this trip was specifically only for indulging into Sagada's various dishes and to enjoy a quick escape from Manila's hot weather.

Ready? :)

We decided to try this reggae cafe and bar just a few steps from our guesthouse for our first meal in Sagada.

Sagada Surprise
I can say that the food was just okay, nothing special. What's good about it is that it's so cheap and its already good for sharing. There's 6 of us and it cost us more or less like 200PHP/each for our lunch. :) They also serve affordable drinks with unique names like 007 Bond Drink, Sagada Surprise, etc.
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐ - Food / ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Drinks (HEHE)

2. FREE WINE TASTING AT CELLAR DOOR

This wasn't part of the plan, but as we're enjoying our late lunch at Ysagada Cafe and Bar, the owner (?) asked us if we would like to avail a tour, but we immediately said no as going on a tour isn't part of our agenda. He then offered if we would like to visit their wine cellar and try some of their fresh wines and of course who says NO to free taste?

While we're there, he also showed us a room where they keep all of it until it's ready to be sold and he also mentioned that some of it was imported to Manila. My personal favorite was the Persimmon flavored wine next to the Blueberry flavor, but it also tastes good when you mix the two. Bottles come in different sizes and price ranges from 100PHP to 200PHP. We bought some bottles for "pasalubong" and of course for ourselves as it was really good as it was made from real fresh fruits.

3. MISTY LODGE (MY ALL TIME FAVORITE!)
We stayed here way during our first visit and we really enjoyed their homemade yoghurt and their steak so we decided to visit them again for dinner.

Prices are still the same and Misty Lodge will always have this chill and relaxing ambience. There is an ongoing renovation as I think they're adding more rooms (yay!). If you would like to try their Homemade Yoghurt you can now order here in Manila thru 0905-9196069. :)

After a few drinks at Ysagada Reggae Bar and Cafe, we head out and decided to look for a place. Salt and Pepper was about to close, but luckily, they still accepted us as their last customers.

We ordered 2 pizza's and they're both tasty. I believe 1 was all meat pizza and the other one I definitely forgot. We were only able to try these as since their closing, pizza was the only available on their menu.

5. SAGADA BREW

Just like 2016, we decided to head to Sagada Bistro for breakfast as they serve bacons and pancakes. :)

Bacon, Waffles, Salad and Egg
The waffle was soggy this time that I didn't enjoy it. It was different as to what I've tried before. Maybe because there's a lot of customers that morning. I'd still recommend Sagada Brew as my favorite breakfast place in Sagada. :)

6. SAGADA BISTRO

Etag Pizza 2/2
Each one of us, ordered pasta. Mine was shrimp and zucchini, the others had carbonara and Bolognese, which I didn't have a chance to take a photo of. The Etag pizza was a little pricey, but it's was definitely worth it. :)
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐
There's several restaurants you can choose from #WhenInSagada and most dishes are already good for sharing. All the photos posted we're shared by the 6 of us and some was just for me (my own order) as I didn't have the chance to take photos of what my friends' ordered as they're not happy waiting until I get that "perfect shot" lol.
Until next time Sagada :) Feel free to share your Sagada food trip! :)
