Last May, I was able to score a good deal from Cebu Pacific for a RT fare to Thailand. I immediately booked it and created an itinerary. I only had limited time due to the fact that I'm only allowed to be out work for 2 days. I've read from other travelers their experience with their trip to Thailand and on how you can enjoy exploring the city without hurting your pocket. I created my own itinerary, making it fit to my short schedule plus I'm kind of on a limited budget as this wasn't the original plan.. So, let me share how I wandered around Bangkok with just
I arrived Bangkok with no delays. Arrived at exactly 8:30 AM (Manila is an hour ahead of time). Had some of my money changed at the airport just to be used for my bus ride going to my hotel and to buy a SIMcard. It took 45 minutes before I reach Khao San Road and 2 minutes to find my hotel. However, since it was still early and check in time is still 2:00pm. I decided to roam around Khao San Road first and had an early lunch and took the tuk tuk going to Chakutak Market.

MY FIRST MEAL IN BANGKOK!
1. CHAKUTAK WEEKEND MARKET

2. Visit Banglamphu, Khao San Road and Soi Rambuttri for a food trip, to party and to meet other foreigners/backpackers
Soi Rambuttri is located just on the other side of Khao San Road. This is also where I bought some of the dried fruits I brought home for pasalubong. Banglamphu was 5 to 10 minutes walk from Khao San Road. It was again another haven for backpackers, it was just a small street but, has numerous bars, restaurants and guest house. Khao San Road never sleeps, you can party and drink all night here, plus munch on all the street foods too.

3. Go on a daytrip to Ayutthaya
Check out my separate post for my trip to Ayutthaya: https://www.ieatandiwander.com/2017/06/daytrip-to-ayutthaya.html4. Temple Hopping
Wat Pho, Wat Arun and The Grand Palace are all a MUST when visiting Bangkok. On my end, due to the limited time, I had to choose on which one to visit and since I was already there. I decided to just visit Wat Pho. :(

5. Visit an animal cafe
I choose between visiting the Husky Cafe or the Little Zoo Cafe and ended up with the Little Zoo Cafe as I would like to play with a Fox and a Raccoon.

A camera shy fox was behind me

Timon, Waffle, Pizza and Sandwich decided to sleep on my lap lol

7. Stroll around Siam Square then just across the street was Siam Paragon then head to Pratunam Market
8. Try to experience all modes of transporation
I tried their tuk tuk, train, taxi and even tried riding a motorcycle (habal habal)9. NEVER EVER leave Bangkok without experiencing their Authentic THAI MASSAGE!!!

10. Explore Suvarnabhumi Airport

It was again a quick and bitin trip.
TIPS!
- Make sure to compare tickets from one website to another and see which offers a much cheaper fare.
- I would suggest that you exchange your PHP to USD before exchanging it to BAHT since USD to BAHT. On my end, I exchanged it directly from PHP to BAHT since I only had limited time, so I am not able to go to the bank and have my money changed to USD.
- When you reached Bangkok Airport, I tell you, it's big and you may be lost. Don't be afraid to ask questions, most people that work at the airport can speak and understands English. :)
- Ask the information booth if there's a bus leaving for wherever location you'll go or simply take the BTS.
- Get a local SIM card they offer different promos depending on the duration of your stay.
- If you arrived early at your hotel, most hotels has a luggage area where you can leave your stuff so you can start wandering around and just be back to check in. It's safe since someone is watching over it.
- Don't forget to bring some sunblock and water since you'll be doing a lot of walking and its seriously hot in Thailand 🔥
- Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothes. Make sure to take note of dress codes on other locations (Grand Palace, Wat Pho, etc.)
- Make sure to experience Thai street foods, it's everywhere. Skip the restaurants, eat on the streets 👌
- Download helpful apps like: Google Translate (It had been helpful, I just simply ask them to read what I'm typing 😂), XE Currency (I use this to check if the price is just the same with PHP so I can decide if I'll buy it or not lol). Offline Maps too!
- Haggle! Haggle! Haggle! Whether it be on clothes, food or even on fares. 👌
